So, the Cellular Skate team got together and whipped up this promo. Promo for what you ask? A promo for their upcoming much-longer video project.

Since this teaser alone should be enough to melt your face off – I tremble to think of the effect that the actual feature-length product will have on its viewers.

At Cellular, we’re all about helping you get out and skate.  That’s why we’d like to start a series right here about the best skate spots in our neck of the – well, not so much woods as suburbia.

But first, we need a little help from you.  We’re looking for your favorite spot – and we want pics, directions – all the info you care to give.  Put it all in an email and send it to: skatespots@cellularskate.com

We’ll take the best submissions and turn ‘em in to a full featured “Skate Tour ‘De Upland” series of posts here on the site – and of course give you credit where credit is due.  Plus, if your submission gets chosen, we might even hook you up with a little something from the shop.

So, get out those cameras and warm up your typing fingers.  We await your emails with great anticipation.

What skater doesn’t dream of getting sponsored?  The crazy parties, endless cash and worldwide fame – all just for skating.  Well, getting on the Cellular team probably won’t get you a show on MTV2, but we do hook our team members up with free and deeply discounted gear.

Just the other day, we this comment on our “Cellular Team” post:

Hey whats good cellular! I’ve been a satisfyed [sic] customer with you guys for a long time now and was thinking on what I can do more to get involved with the skate community. What do you guys look at in a sponsor me video? I have to admit, John Sharp’s sponsor me video was preety[sic] intimidating. He is a hell of a skater!

So, here’s the Cellular guide to getting sponsored:

Step 1 – Get Good

I know, obvious, right – but it’s key.  We want excellent skaters on our team.  If you’re not there yet, you’re not ready to get sponsored, by us or anyone else.

Step 2 – Pics Or It Didn’t Happen

We want proof that you’re a good skater, and photos and video are the best kind of proof.  One of the biggest reasons we even have a team is to get photos and videos of our riders that we can use to promote our shop.  So, show us that you’re good at getting us those images.  Take ‘em, post them on Flickr, or Vimeo, or (if you must) YouTube, then post a link in the comments to one of our blog posts.

Step 3 – Get Out There

Sponsoring the best skater in the world wouldn’t do us any good if nobody knew about it.  If you’re going to be on the team, we want you to be out at popular skate spots, competitions, putting yourself all over the internets.  We sponsor skaters so that we can bring more skaters into our shop, so prove to us that you can draw a crowd.

Step 4 – Keep Trying

Stick around – even if we don’t offer you a spot on the cellular team the first time you ask.  Keep skating, keep asking.  Keep commenting here.  Keep coming by the store. Convince us.
